Trafford Hall have an environmental ethos that is top of tree when it comes to Eco Weddings in the North West. They have rebuilt the original Victorian stable block, which was structurally dangerous, replacing it with a new timber frame, environmentally friendly building. This has created a modern, high quality wedding venue with comfortable and welcoming accommodation.
On their website www.traffordhall.com they give some great ideas for hosting an Eco Friendly Wedding, so we thought we;d share!
Wear vintage - recycle old garments and fabrics to ensure your dress is truly one of a kind and free from manufactured synthetics.
Use biodegradable confetti - Trafford Hall can source suppliers of naturally dried organic petals which makes beautiful, eco-friendly confetti.
Use your party favours and wedding list as an excuse to give something back to the environment. Give packets of plant seeds or commemorative trees or why not donate to a charity? A donation to the NCRC who are based at Trafford Hall can provide community volunteers with the training, confidence and capacity to make a difference to a deprived community in the UK.
Use locally grown, seasonal and organic flowers, thus reducing transport costs, the use of pesticides and the carbon footprint of your special day.
Cut down on transport between venues - Trafford Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and can also cater for your reception, thus cutting out the journey between the registry office and reception venue. Trafford Hall also
offers you the opportunity to plant commemorative native trees within its grounds to offset carbon emissions- a beautiful environmentally friendly tribute to your special day!
Make your own invites and name cards from recycled materials- this will help you to reduce costs and adds a personal touch.
Support local suppliers and reduce pollution caused by transport- Trafford Hall has its own organic kitchen garden and uses locally farmed organic produce whenever possible.
Recycle! - think of all the packaging and empty bottles your wedding is going to generate - the majority of hotels will throw this away. Trafford Hall recycles paper, card and glass and has a wormery for transforming food waste into compost for our organically managed gardens.
