As soon as you've set the date, it's time to decide what kind of wedding you want.
For some, this may be simple, especially if you are religious and a member of a particular church. For others, it's a more complicated decision. A lot of couples would like to marry in a place of worship but are embarrassed about approaching the vicar or rabbi, in case they are rejected. Don't be. If you have set your heart on a church wedding, then call the vicar or priest and ask. They'll be very used to this. If they do feel they must say no, they'll be very nice about it!
Some couples are looking for a non-religious or civil ceremony, where they can make the ceremony their own. There are over 500 licensed civil venues in the North West now, excluding register offices. So you can be married at Aintree racecourse, in Sefton Park Palm House, or even in a barn.
Wedding types to think about include:
- religious weddings
- civil weddings
- marriage by special licence
- humanist weddings
- military weddings
- getting married abroad
- double weddings
- weddings at home
- weddings at sea
