Avril and Matt married in July 2009, on a lovely sunny, with surrounded by friends and family.
We ask Avil what her top wedding tips would be.....
Matt and I were married at Christ Church in Bootle, my parents were married there, as were many of my family, I was christened there and so was Oliver (our little boy) earlier in the year.
Our afternoon and evening reception was at Suites Hotel, Knowsley. I cant commend them enough. We were looking for somewhere special, not too far out, big enough to hold all the guests we wanted to invite, but that didn't cost a fortune. They really looked after us on the day. The wedding breakfast was lovely as was the evening buffet. The suite we booked for the evening is amazing!!! I was almost claiming squatters rights! haha!
Some of the suppliers we used and I would recommend are
Photographer - Dave Phillips from Hightown, 0151 929 2096.
Quite traditional photos, but really pleased with them. We got to go and pick album cover and what we wanted printing on the front etc. We got a main album of the day, a second (plain fronted album) with the rest of the days photos in as well as all the negatives.
Grooms suit, best man, ushers and fathers suits all hired from Attire, Fazakerley, they were really nice and helpful.
My wedding dress was from Society Brides, which is in Liverpool City Centre, facing central station.
They were really helpful which made all the difference. I went in with an idea of what I wanted, even took a picture, and they were like, 'well this is like the fabric you like' and 'this ones in the style you like'.
I got our favour boxes from the 'Confetti' website, little boxes with pink ribbons, and added a stick on diamonte in the middle of all the bows.
My adult bridesmaid dresses, though beautiful, didn't come til last min, and I've since heard someone else having the same prob, so wont mention the shop I got them from. But my little bridesmaid's dress was from John Lewis online, a beautiful ivory netted and sparkling princess dress, that I simply changed the sash on, to match the older bridesmaid colour. And was actually cheaper than the much plainer ones I'd seen in the bridesmaid dress shop.
Music for our wedding, at Church we had 'One more step along the world I go' - which I thought was quite appropriate for a wedding, and also 'jubliate' which is really catchy! haha! Heard it at a christening months before and we both decided we had to have it!
Our first dance, was 'I belong to you' by Lenny Kravitz, the words are lovely and we'd had the album a long time.
Top wedding tips....
1) relax and enjoy the day - everyone says this but it goes soooo fast! - If you've planned and orgainised right down to the last letter, what's going to happen on the day will happen, don't get stressed, just enjoy! And take time out, even just a couple of minutes as new man and wife to say 'wow'!
2) Write a little list of photos you'd like taken on the day, our photographer recommended this. I didn't end up writing one as I thought all the ones we'd want would be the classic ones he'd take anyway. But if there's a special aunty or family from far away, just note it down. As you'll never remember them all on the day.
