After a quiet beach holiday in Malaysia, Sarah and Matthew returned to the north west to celebrate their wedding with friends and family
Where did you get married and what made you pick that venue?
We got married on Langkawi Island. Malaysia (had enjoyed holidaying there previously and wanted a quiet beach wedding) and then had a reception at the Wrightington Hotel and Country Club as we wanted to celebrate with friends and family.
We chose Wrightington Hotel and Country Club because, as well as liking the venue (handy for the motorway as mosts guests were travelling) they were one of the few in the region that offered a free room for the bride and groom just with having the reception there (most others you had to have the whole wedding there to get that!).
The layout of the suite also meant that there was a quieter area where we showed our wedding DVD to the guests.

Caterer – Wrightington Hotel did the catering and we hired a chocolate fountain from Choc of the North
My friend Stella made the cake (the same friend that took the pics- a handy friend to have!!)

Honeymoon- went to Kuala Lumpur and then to the Orang Utan Sanctuary in Borneo
Who designed your wedding dress and where was it from?
Off the peg from Debenhams (£90) and white flip flops off eBay
What music did you have during the day?
Throught the ceremony – traditional malaysian live music
Our First Dance was 'To Make You Feel My Love' by Garth Brooks
What would be your Top Wedding Tip?
